Clinical characteristics of obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus on blood pressure measured at end-point were shown. The obesity was defined by the criteria using body mass index (BMI) of Japan Society for the Study of Obesity. BMI with 25.0 kg/m2 was defined as obesity. Blood pressure using clinic blood pressure (CBP) and home blood pressure (HBP) measured once in each clinic visit and in the same morning at each clinic visit within 10 minutes after awakening in the sitting position were measured at end-point shown as the same threshold of normotension with less than 130 mmHg of systolic blood pressure measurements in morning HBP and CBP. Two tailed values of P < 0.05 were defined as statistically significant.
