He will test to see if the therapist expresses anger towards him. He will test to see if the therapist will be critical of him. (test "self-esteem"). He is unconsciously identified with his father. And he is unconsciously compled with father's criticism.
2 To be distinguish from others Cold, dominant, unpredictable father "I fear to be alone if I say no to others"; "I fear to be rejected if I not adapt to the needs of others". He will separate from the therapist and decline an offer by the therapist. (test "assignment"). His self-criticism is a way to deal with others needs and learn to be more tolerant.
3 To keep the control Helpless mother "Others can perform better than I do". He will try to control the therapist. (test "control/dominance"). He is unconsciously identified with his father.
