Case 1

He was spiking fevers throughout the 17 days of treatment and persistence of symptoms.

He then was started on second-line therapy with amphotericin B targeted for six doses. This well-tolerated, he showed significant improvement, with fevers' resolution and the marked reduction in spleen size plus no side effects to any of the drugs were noted.
