^aTreatment groups are stressed or non-stressed mice-receiving active hexose correlated compound or phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) by gavage for seven days before sacrifice.

^bBody weight of each mouse in grams was measured every day during feeding. Mice were sacrificed seven days after feeding and weight of spleens was determined. Statistical differences between treatment groups were compared at the level of (p < 0.05).
