It is widely proved that methods of intervention in cases of adolescent-onset psychosis should be timely and plurifocal, with the application of integrated forms of therapy, including pharmacological treatment and psychological and social rehabilitation, also with an involvement of family members. Research studies moreover indicate that offering adolescents treatment within social contexts besides at facilities which have the specific purpose of providing treatment, on either a hospital or out-patient basis, improves both the outcome and compliance to treatment....

Romain Jouffroy, Antoine Pegat-Toquet, Alexandre Bourdiault, Pascal Philippe, Pierre Carli and Benoit Vivien

Article Type: Case Report | First Published: June 13, 2018

Angiotensin II (AII) is a strong physiological vasopressor hormone. Sartans act as antagonists of AT1 receptors of AII, inducing a vasodilatation via an upregulation of AT2 receptors. In July 2017, in the New England Journal of Medicine, efficiency of AII to increase blood pressure and reduce conventional vasopressors's dose in severe vasodilatory shock refractory to high-dose vasopressors were observed....

C3orf21 and Notch Signaling in Cancer:A Potential Biomarker

Yongjun Zhang, Dehou Deng and Wenlong Bao

Article Type: Perspective Article | First Published: June 11, 2018

C3orf21 (chromosome 3 open reading frame 21), also known as xyloside xylosyltransferase 1 (XXYLT1), is located on chromosome 3q29. C3orf21 belongs to the glycosyltransferase 8 family, furthermore, it is a retaining glycosyltransferase. In the extracellular domain of target proteins, XXYLT1 catalyzes addition of the second sylose, and then elongates the O-linked xylose-glucose disaccharide attached to EGF-like repeats. XXYLT1 negatively regulates Notch signaling, and aberrations in the Notch signaling pathway were associated with a few types of cancers....
