Dr. Georgios Kimionis is an Assistant professor in Ophthalmology at University of Crete. Research interests include, Corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) with riboflavin and UV-A. New approaches (e.g. high intensity CXL) and modified techniques (e.g. combined transepithelial phototherapeutic keratectomy followed by CXL, Cretan protocol, combined photorefractive keratectomy followed by CXL etc.), New techniques in managing corneal graft for partial corneal transplantation procedures. Development of new techniques for corneal endothelial transplantation (DSEK, DMEK), Femtosecond laser application in corneal, refractive and cataract surgery (e.g. femtosecond laser-assisted intracorneal biopolymer insertion for the symptomatic treatment of bullous keratopathy), Refractive surgery - outcomes and new approaches,
